The achievements and life stories of these figures encapsulate the values and ideals that the country pursued Consequently, currency is often referred to as a tacit diplomat. You can learn about the individuals representing each nation and their notable accomplishments. Additionally, you can explore the designs of the 50,000-won note and the 5,000-won note of Korea which feature Shin Saimdang and Yulgok Yi I, the world’s first mother and son imprinted on banknotes, through a large interactive video.

In 2009, Shin Saimdang was chosen as the figure for the 50,000-won banknote, marking the birth of the world's first mother and son pair on money. You can vividly experience Shin Saimdang’s life story and artworks imprinted on the note through the interactive videos that respond to your touch.
